I know we don't have any NE riders beside myself on here but anytime anyone wants to head this way(as desolate as it is here) look me up. We could always head into Memphis as I am only an hour north.

About 50 miles west of you...

Postby too_many_hobbies » Thu Aug 10, 2006 10:45 pm

DgenX,

I am about 50 miles due west of you in Bono (near Jonesboro). I don't do a lot of riding this time of year around here due to the bugs in farming country. We have a cabin in Mountain Home and do most of my riding from there in the summer.

There is a group ride to benefit D.A.R.E. and the NEAC Charitable Foundation that I will participate in this Saturday, August 12th. They are expecting several hundred bikes to attend. It is a Poker Run type ride ending at the Convocation Center in Jonesboro where Black Oak Arkansas is playing at 7:00 PM. They are also giving away some sort of '06 Harley at 6:30 PM (Gets the numbers up). You may want to check this out if you are looking for riding buddies...

we've been busy at work the last few weeks so i haven't gotten on much. seems like i am working every weekend lately and now going to have to console the wife until April, our son(my stepson) left for Irag today so she is pretty down.

And wen I do get the chance to get back down that way I won't tow it, the only time that happens is when somethings broke that can't be fixed on the roadside. I will check my schedule and see about a time to come down.

Man and it sucks. I work off Sunday morning and then I have design engineer coming in Monday to look at some mold drawings to determine if we can get some sort of radiation source in it. So as it goes again, I have no days off for 2 weeks and then I have to get ready to fly out to Virginia Beach for a class.

There are actually some pretty good roads up in NE Arkansas. Up near Hardy are some great roads, getting into the foothills. I know around Jonesboro the roads are mainly flat and straight. Even Paragould has a few good curves. Pocahontas has some great roads as well.

Yeah I know about all the roads around Hardy and Smithville and the area. I dated a woman a few years back from Walnut Ridge and helped train horses some so I got to do all the horse shows and such so I ran a bunch of the backroads in the area.
