Where to get tires installed?

Where to get tires installed?

Postby mflueras » Mon Aug 20, 2007 10:02 pm

Help, I feel like everyone I talk to is trying to rip me off. The person that changed my tires moved out west and I have been trying to replace him. I live in Hot Springs and I have tried a few places and can't seem to find any good deals on a set of tires. I have been quoted as much as 650 for a set installed on my bike. I have a 03 Buell XB9SL and it takes a 120/70/17 front and 180/55/17 rear. If you know someone that can get me a good deal please let me know. Very few will install tires if they did not sell them and those that will are outrageous (50 per tire and then balance them for an additional 15). Thanks all.

If you're up for a ride to Cabot, ironx on this forum will hook you up. See this thread -

I'm running into the same problem. Can't get ahold of ironx, and I'm not paying $45 for the 15mins it takes to mount a tire.

Keep trying he is pretty much a one man operation most of the time and he may be out picking up parts. If you call from blocked or resticted number you will have to leave a voice mail.

If you call them ahead to get the tires you need ordered and sitting there, then plan a ride up to do 341.........come to Mountain Home and see the guys at Wide Open Motorsports. There number is 870-425-1189.

Ask for Michael or Brett and tell them I sent you. I just put new Bridgestone Battlax 190's on the rear and 120's on the front of my ZX14. My tires ran around $250 including tax and they pulled them off the bike, dismounted, remounted and balanced both for $35 each. They do a great job and treat your ride as good as you would. I don't mind paying that amount to get them done especially as reasonably priced as they sell the tires for. I just ordered new tires for the Concours 14 and R1 as well. They are great guys. Then to top it all off..........you would have to ride 341, 14, 5, 9....etc while you were in the area. Boooo Hooooo.

Later,
Chris

Good to see you ordered tires for everything. My rear tire all but melted on the way back to Conway after meeting you guys (and gals) on Sunday.
I was lucky to make it home. I am waiting for Cycle Gear to open here in LR before I buy mine. That way I get my discount and free mounting.
