New guy out of Jacksonville

Postby blackandsilver999 » Thu Jun 04, 2015 4:41 pm

Hey everyone! Name is John. I am out of the Jacksonville area. I ride a shiny new FZ-09 I bought a few weeks ago, and that I'm still breaking in.

Started riding back in 2004. Had an '04 R6, but I sadly sold it several years ago when I moved to Hawaii as the riding there wasn't that great. I did mainly track days with about a year of novice racing. This is my first bike since selling it. Feels good getting back on two wheels.

Looking forward to chatting with you all. :cheers

Welcome

You just missed the FZ09 rally in NC a week ago.
MSTA is having their national STAR rally this Saturday-Thursday in Springdale AR.
Should be a few hundred like minded folks there.

Welcome. How do you like the fz 09 ? I have been lusting over the fj 09 since it came out. I have viewed reviews on line, but it's not the same as a first person review.

It's pretty much what you read.

Suspension needs an upgrade, ECU reflashrd then it's rideable.
Great motor.

Loving the bike so far. It's the first triple I've ridden. It's light, has good power, and fun to ride. Don't think you will be disappointed.

Only real complaints right now is the seat and the suspension. After about an hour it begins to get a bit uncomfortable because the seat isn't that good. I'm planning on getting an aftermarket seat here shortly to make my rides more comfortable. The suspension is really soft from the dealer. I stiffened it up all the way and it feels better. But depending on the type of riding you do, an aftermarket may be the way to go if you decide getting one.
