What would you choose?

Dealer support not being an issue " as we have no central Ar dealers for any of them".

2012 BMW S1000rr loaded

2012 Aprilia RSV4 Factory SE

2012 Ducati Panigale S Tricolore

Money aside which would you want in your garage?

So what you got yourself here is a fantasy bike conundrum...The bestest of the bestest of a four, a twin, and a V4. Obviously we are looking at ludicrous speed and with that in mind. (drum roll please) IMHO and unbiased opinion it has to be the RSV4. Quite simply the pick of the litter in engine and electronics (just ask the CRT teams) , no first gen teething worries as may be the case with the Panigale, and no niggling eccentricities as with the BMW. The Ape V4SE is the bees knees. Top shelf. Big cheddar.

It has the ultimate engine configuration, the pleasure of 2 years of fine tuning and testing to ensure it is a proper "Superbike with Lights". Call it the Lamborghini of the 2 wheeled world Vs say Ducati as being the Ferrari. Lambo does one thing, speed. Whereas Ferrari does the whole multiple models and tunes with a hefty dose of styling thrown in. Aprillia does make other bikes of course, but its flagship does what flagships are suppose to do. Show up, intimidate, and devastate.

If you like looking at your bike over a glass of Pino, Ducati is your buy. If you want to be on the thing that people only see for a second (well it is ugly) and wonder "what the hell was that a stealth jet?", then the Aprilia is your toy. As for the BMW it is the most powerful I4 to date, has an aquired taste styling wise, and is probably the most functional day to day. Tuetonic efficiency like all thing German is handy, but can miss the passion inherent in the Italian brands. Probably all day comfy too.

And know that I have gone multi paragraph on my dissertation I ask the simple question?? Why not the MV F4 in the place of the BMW?

Then I think I could have one of each...and throw in a stack of rear tires please!! :biglol

Smiley,

I will be waiting to see the real world reviews prior to any purchase. If the Duc is what the factory people are saying it will be the one to beat.

Listen to the most knowlegable one (me)...The kraut or the Aprillia...i see you have thrown in it the mix after you said that you are not crazy about it ( same as the Daytona evo boots)...The beemer has the mother load engine (akra and the race kit gets you over 200 hp)...the prillia has the best electronics and handling and has one the the literbikes test last year vs the beemer...1.BMW...2.Aprillia..3.Ducati

Looking for the best all arounder, handling, tuning, wow factor, pimp factor, hp.

importance in that order for me.

BMW may have the best electronic fueling overtaking the Aprillia, we'll see. Ducati is clearly in the lead in the handling, wow and pimp catagory possibly usable hp also, we'll see.

Will be an interesting year to say the least.

Anyone want to buy a 07 gixxer, mild mods and never wheelied? :cheers

The Aprillia runs circles around the Ducati handling wise,BMW has the best lap times in every test (Europe,USA) at various tracks...and yes i hate Ducati because of all the Ducatisti Dainese worshipping fools ( not you or Jack) who wear Ducati pijamas and have ducati bed sheets and posters and its the end of the world a pebble hit my fairing

BMW, sounds better than the Dookie. All perform way above me so no preference as far as performance.

Where are you getting your priveledged info from on a bike that no one has ridden yet? I'm not looking at buying another 1198, we're talking about the Panigale.

Do you remember the difference between the Aprilia or BMW and their older model? Night and day.

I have to wait for facts not Gypsy crystal ball stuff holmes.

Agree on the performance preference quote also Dan.

Just waiting to see if Duc is embellishing a ton, if not it may blow away the Prillia and BMW in handling and lap times.

Electronic suspension adjustments sound interesting and the headlight, taillights and dash make the rest look like model T Fords if you haven't seen the youtube videos check em out.

You can quote me the Ducati is going to be down 20 hp to the beemer..and yes it has better headlights...but the BMW GT 1600 has the best headlights...cant believe that you are willing to support the Gypsy italian economy

Who cares about 20hp at 14,500rpm? Nazis or Gypsys makes no difference to me, we just call em Euro's over here.

Will be curious what the hp and Torque numbers at 10,000 rpm where I live, or 7,000 in your neck of the woods. :cheers

We know looks and styling aren't important to some " :biglol :biglol :biglol " but technology advancement of this level is only offered now on one bike. Aprillia and BMW have the same parts on em as a 2001 zx9 in many areas, the Duc not so much.
