2012 ZX14

The new 14 is going to be a beast , it sports a 1441CC engine :eek due to a 4mm stroker, new cams, bigger valves, and the ports come hand polished, Hp at the crank around 210, it will run away from the Busa, from the reports, you can let off the gas, let the Busa catch up, get back on the throttle and pull away, it will pull away from any production bike on the planet :vroom and yes even the RR BMW.

I think it will be a real neat bike. One I would love to have in the garage. It has the KTRIC TC so maybe rear tire life won't scare the bejeebus outta me, plenty comfortable for an ICBM, and I can't image it could handle near as badly as say a 1991 GSXR1100 or ZX11 or old. Bikes today are just so capable and fast it is unbelievable. I'll take mine in silver when it comes out...Or maybe black.

Only complaint I have heard is that it is heavy and i think that can be addressed by changing the exhaust and losing the catalyzers. Other than that it is just a matter of finding a straightaway long enough to air it out on...

It could have been much better though....what they should have done is stick that engine on a zx 12...instead of making the ghetto azz zx 14

I couldent agree more, also it weights about 570+, it will be hard pressed to get it under 500 with out spending some cash, my gen1 busa weigh 478 in street trim, at Memphis Motor sports scales, my upgrades should put my old school busa at about 210-220 at the crank, correction, rear wheel, :doh anyways it will be interesting this next year.

To me it isn't a competition bike. It would be all about finding a road out west and find the rev limiter in 6th gear. I don't think I have ever been over 160...

Busas and 12's are great big boy sportbikes...great power and very good handling...the 14 not so much so as far as the handling...altough i have seen Dan do some silly things on it...just not my cup of tea...to damn ugly, too long and shit ground clearance

Sounds like a strong motor. Bet it would make a fast go-cart ? I wonder how far you could ramp jump it. With 10 ohlins on each end? Half mile.

And by go kart, you mean, a dirt track midget racer. The mini sprints and dwarf cars have run Ninja and busa motors for quite some time and they just get better and better. No clue if they have worked out how to incorporate the OEM traction control yet, but I bet someone will! :biglol

Might make a cool 2-up sport touring bike. I don't like the side paneling looks though. There are other ugly bikes out ther that I do like, but this one, not so much. Would make a cool motor for a smartcar though.

I would buy that one! Can you stretch a smartcar? For drag racing of course.....

The big in-lines are coming close to peak power and keeping the emissions in check with current rpms, the 1000s make good power but have to spin higher, but who knows....maybe turbos in the future.

I was hoping for a leaner 14 and a front end re-do. But a very versiltile bike from twisties to the long trip. Done'm both on the 14.
