Your favorite bike

Postby D Haynes » Mon Aug 05, 2013 6:16 pm

I was at North Little Rock Honda/Yamaha this afternoon and saw a 89 Honda Hawk with 4,700 miles for 2999. It looked really good. It made me think of bikes that I have owned that I wish that I still had or that I really liked. What are some of the bikes that you own or have owned that you really liked of that was a cool bike? Or what bike would you like to have owned?

I would like to have had a crack at some earlier sport bikes like late 80s early 90s... like an old zx7 or a yzf 750. But alas, I was too young then and too poor now...

Back in 91 I missed a Zx-7RR at the dealership in Hot Springs...my favorite was a 2002 YZF600R. Could fo everything. Tour, sport, track days, 2 up. Was the perfect bike. Want forever a pristine Ducati 916. Honda RC30 or RC 51. And oh a TLR 1000 suzuki.

Most exciting bike I have straddled...TZ250. A pure race machine.

I think my favorite all around bike was the two cbr 929's I've owned. I would gladly buy another one for the street if I ever come across the right deal at the right time. I also really enjoyed my 97 Cbr 600f3, that bike was smoking fast back then! I'd love to own a v-twin sport bike someday like an rc-51, tl-1000, 916, 996, just something along those categories.

I guess my absolute favorite would be the 99 Busa I kept for nine years. Toured on it. Raced it. Turboed it and raced some more. I would like to get my hands on a 79 Suzuki GS1000S. Really liked that bike back in the day.

Favorite is a 1984 V65 Magna, will buy one some day when I find a clean enough one. Favorite I have owned is my new Multistrada so far, performance and comfort and tourability in one package. Hopefully it will still be my favorite after returning from alaska on it in the summer next year with Dan.

I tried to buy one a few years back but as always, when I have money I cant find what im looking for. Ended up getting something I hated. My father-in-law had the Sabre which was just the sport fairing version. It was a fun bike but the V4 is a pain in the A$$ to work on especially he carbs.

In all honesty, my 2006 R1 is my favorite bike. I've enjoyed many others, but not like this one.
