Moto GP crashes

Postby zx9 Nick » Sun Jan 20, 2013 12:53 am

Intresting article in the current issue of Road Racing World...in 2012 in Moto GP,Moto 2 and 3 there were 905 crashes and only 25 broken bones total...not a bad ratio...just a little statistic for the gear geeks out there (me)... :lol3

I wonder if there are stats for earlier years? Are there any MotoGP riders wearing the airbag systems now?

The Alpinestars and Dainese sponsored riders are....they have been since 2010 or 2011...here is the breakdown of the injuries...5 broken fingers,7 broken toes,3 ankles,2 wrists,4 collarbones,1 forearm, and 3 vertebrae (Hector Barbera in Indy)...9 of those were not serious enough from stoping the riders from racing...not bad considering that most of those crashes are well in the triple digit speeds and none of the injuries were serious other than Stoner missing 3 races
