Road Course here in Central AR?

Road coarse, drag, whatever, get it here.

Anyone know how to contact Jay Leno?

I can't afford the memebership but a pay as you go would be more realistic for me.

there are several crop dusting companies that operate at the Stuttgart Airport. I used to skydive a bunch and I tried to open a facility at the airport here and it was a huge pain. I would have to say that I'm not optimistic at all about a road course working in conjunction with airport operations. Its just to busy out there. They might be filling the track coordinators full of a bunch of hogwash though. I just dont see it working.

So, the airport is still active? I was thinking that he was trying to build it near an airport that was no longer active. Interesting.

This airport is VERY VERY active. They would have to pause races for crop dusters to land and take off....

Ah well. Having a road course in Central Arkansas sounded too good to be true (except the membership fee).

Arkansas Motorsports Ranch

Postby Batesvilledon » Sat Nov 08, 2008 8:33 am

Quite a few tracks are set up withthe membership structure like this one, including Eagles Canyon and Cresson although you can still get on the track with a track day group. I corresponded with the guy building AMR and he is aware of the motorcycle's that want to ride there and is in favor of that. He knows that everyone can't afford a membership, but he still wants to hear from interested people, so go to his site and email him if you have'nt already.

yeah, the membership fee was not a biggie. The biggie was Greg's unwillingness to partner and the difficulty of building a road coarse in Arkansas. Last thing I heard was that he was looking at Conway. That makes me think that the Arkansas track possibility is sufficiently dead.

I wasn't aware he'd had partnership opportunities. It isn't like he couldn't retain 51% for the purposes of ensuring things stayed on track (pun kind of intended).

Obviously, Conway would be ideal for me, but in general this just sucks that it is such a difficult venture to get off the ground.
They got me in my pride. Trivia. I'm so trivial.

Law to Make Track Easier

Postby Shelby » Mon Jan 12, 2009 2:39 pm

Just filed in the legislature today - which would make it a little easier to get a new track. Reduces the signatures required by adjioning landowners from 75% down to 38%.

20 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code § 8-10-302 is amended to read as follows:
21 8-10-302. Construction of motor vehicle racing facility - Requirement.
22 (a)(1) Due to the noise, air pollution, and traffic congestion caused
23 by motor vehicle racing facilities, no motor vehicle racing facility may be
24 constructed in this state after passage of this act without the consent of at
25 least seventy-five percent (75%) thirty-eight percent (38%) of the property
26 owners and seventy-five percent (75%) thirty-eight percent (38%) of the
27 registered voters within three (3) miles of the outside boundary of the
28 proposed facility.

NICE! That's what made it hard to bee branch drag strip to get started. 38 should be much easier.
